The Child Amma Blessed Me With

My name is Nalini. I got married almost three and a half years ago. With our Amma’s blessings, Velvi was performed in the same manner, as it is done at Mel Maruvathur. My husband is a staunch devotee of Amma. He takes part in almost all the festivals, which take place at Mel Maruvathur.

More than a year passed since my marriage. Friends and relatives began to ask me why I did not have a child yet. I felt rather uncomfortable. I would go to our Mandram every day and pray to Amma. Once, we went to Mel Maruvathur and performed Amma’s Paada Pooja. We prayed to Amma to bless us with a child. Amma said, “You will have a child. Don’t worry. For a month, every day, you take goat’s milk, fig fruit, and wood-apple (Vilampazham).” I did exactly what Amma said.

The festival of Adi Pooram came. My husband and I went to Mel Maruvathur. We promised ourselves that, if a child is born to us, we would make the child perform milk abhishekam to Suyampu. We came back home. I couldn’t believe it! The same month, I became pregnant! At the same time, my mother had a dream. My mother has great faith in Amma. In her dream, Adigalaar Amma said to her, “I have given a child to your daughter!” Saying these words, Amma called me near Her, made me sit, placed coconut, bananas, flowers, betel leaves, and areca nut on my lap, and blessed me, touching my stomach.

I went to my mother’s house from my in-laws’. My mother welcomed me and asked me if I have any good news to tell her. I told my mother that I was going to have a baby. My mother said to me, “Amma has already told me in my dream!” It was then, that my mother told me about her dream. We were very happy. Months passed by very soon. The due date was very near. The doctors took a scan and told me that there was excess water in my stomach. For this reason, they feared that the delivery would be rather complicated. I became afraid. Every day, I would go to the Mandram and pray to Amma. Every night, before going to bed, I would recite Amma’s 108 Potri. It was the delivery day. I was admitted in the hospital.

What a wonder! In the labour room, I saw Amma’s photo! As soon as I saw the photo, I felt very happy. The picture gave me courage that Amma was very near me. I wasn’t worried at all. I lay on the bed, saying, “Om Sakthi! Parasakthi!” Within a few minutes, I delivered a baby girl without any problem. On the fifteenth day after my daughter was born, Amma had come to the house of our Mandram president (Thalaivar). We went to the president’s house with our daughter. Amma took my daughter in Her hands and gave her the name, Sakthi Sridevi! Amma kept Her Divine Hand on my daughter’s head and blessed her. We came back home. Amma can perform wonders anywhere and everywhere! We had better develop full faith in Amma and surrender at Her Divine Feet. There isn’t any doubt that we won’t have to face any difficulty and we shall be able to live happily.

In Developing A Spiritual Toolset

By practising the teachings of the Avatars, we are able to preserve and promote a spiritual toolset, which we know to be vital in life in any world.

For The Soul

The vedic prayers of the Avatars, written by Their divine guidance and blessings, are wonderful catalysts to connect with our true selves. They are essential steps and guides on our journey backwards.

Practise To Win

Chant, do, detach. The 'DO' is to be found in sadhana, also glibly called spiritual practice. The toughest step in the beginning, because rarely does one fancy doing, here are some nice ways to DO.

Look Into 'I'

And see the real 'I'. Question, evaluate, and transform. Be good, do good, see good, and all that wonderful, fluffy goodness. The final step in being divine, or as close as you can make it.
